Long Chase with Gruesome Kill
The Yushin Maru No. 2 catcher ship of the Japanese whaling fleet injures a whale with its first harpoon attempt, and takes a further three harpoon shots before finally killing the badly injured fleeing whale. In the end, they drown the mammal beneath the harpooon deck of the ship to kill it. Greenpeace is in the Southern Ocean to stop Japan's annual 'scientific' whale hunt. This year the Fisheries Agency of Japan has more than doubled its planned catch of minke whales to 935 and added 10 endangered fin whales which are the second largest creatures on earth after blue whales.
