Greenpeace’s iconic icebreaker ship the Arctic Sunrise passes the Thames Barrier on its way to London on the eve of World Oceans Day. The ship is in London for the final leg of a Europe-wide ‘Gulliver tour’ in support of small-scale sustainable fishermen.The Greenpeace ‘Gulliver tour’ brought the plight of small fishing boats to the attention of the public and key decision-makers across the continent, sparking a huge wave of public support for small-scale fishermen resulting in over 110,000 people signing up to a paper boat petition calling for this sector of the fleet to be given a fairer deal.

The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise is on a European journey to support sustainable fishermen in Europe. The joined efforts between Greenpeace and the fishermen is taking place as negotiations on the reform of the European Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) enter their final phase.
