Marine Reserves Banners in Taiwan
Greenpeace activists join members of Green Island Cultural and Ecotourism Association and local dive operators. They hold a banner reading demands 'Marine Reserves Now" (in Mandarin) near the Big Mushroom Green Island dive site. Locals have indicated that the reef and species around this coral have revived since the seas around it have become a protected area. Greenpeace will be documenting marine biodiversity at several marine protected areas in Taiwan, as part of a campaign for a global network of marine reserves.
