Measuring Radiation in Koriyama
Daily life continues in Koriyama as Greenpeace radiation expert Rianne Teule checks contamination at a pedestrian crossing. Radiation levels in Koriyama, 60 km west of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, were found to be as high as 2.8 uSv/h, which would provide the maximum allowed annual dose within 2 weeks. Greenpeace is working in the area to monitor radioactive contamination of food and soil to estimate health risks to the local population.
