Smoke billows from the chimneys of the Miami Fort power plant, a 720-megawatt facility with three coal/steam units located in North Bend and approximately 20 miles west of Cincinnati. Pollution generated from the Miami Fort station alone is the cause of approximately 93 heart attacks and 60 deaths each year.
