Mud from River Spree for State Premier Woidtke in Brandenburg - News Access
About 20 Greenpeace activists welcome state premier Dietmar Woidke with 8000 litres brown mud from the River Spree in front of the state parliament in Potsdam. With the election as state premier in Brandenburg the SPD poclitician Woidke takes over the direct responsibility for environmental effects through brown coal mining. The urgency of the problem is stressed by the activists with water and mud that they took from the strongly mudded Spree-inflow Mudritz. The action within the `Quit Coal´campaign of Greenpeace is accompanied with a banner reading: “From today on your brown coal mud, Mister Woidke!”
Statement in German: Niklas Schinerl, Greenpeace Germany energy expert.
