Murmansk, USSR. Sleeve for transferring nuclear fuel between a nuclear icebreaker and a spent fuel storage ship. The spent fuel rod is kept on the storage ship for three years before being sent for reprocessing. The transfer takes place a few km from the centre of Murmansk (population 500,000). The storage ship LOTTA can store up to 6 spent cores.
