The text on the banner reads 'Liever windenergie toch?', which translates to English as 'Rather wind power?'. With this action Greenpeace calls on ABN AMRO not to invest in new nuclear power plants, but in ultramodern wind farms at sea. State Secretary of Environment Van Geel states that ABN AMRO wants to finance a new nuclear power plant. In a reply the bank doesn't exclude the investment. Greenpeace finds this very alarming, because a nuclear power plant is an easy target for terroristic attacks and can never be protected for one hundred percent. In addition nuclear waste remains highly dangerous for 240,000 years. Greenpeace urges to stop nuclear energy and to invest in safe and positive energy from sun, wind and biomass.
