Nuclear Waste Action at Orano's Headquarters in Châtillon, France
Greenpeace France activists placed about fifteen metal drums with a radioactive symbol in front of the entrance to the Orano nuclear group in Châtillon, south of Paris, to protest against the shipment of French spent uranium to Siberia.
Greenpeace France has obtained proof that these radioactive shipments, which were regular between 1972 and 2010, resumed in early 2021. While the "France 2030" investment plan to be unveiled today will include funding for nuclear power, the industry is once again demonstrating its irresponsibility and inability to manage its waste.
