Mountain Fire Peace Sign for G7 Summit on Waxenstein in Germany
12 Greenpeace activists climbed the Waxenstein near the venue of the G7 Summit 2022. They installed a mountain fire in the shape of a peace sign with a diameter of 60 meters on the slope. On banners they demanded, "G7: Exit Fossils, Enter Peace" and "G7: Stop Gas, Oil and Coal Now." Images formed from fire in the mountain peaks are a tradition in the Alpine region for the summer solstice that goes back to the Middle Ages.
