This is the second day of a blockade action against the cargo vessel Probo Koala. Greenpeace activists brand the Panamanian flagged cargo vessel Probo Koala an EU Toxic Crime Scene and accuse the company in charge of the vessel of intoxicating Africa with a poisonous waste shipment.
On 19th August this year the Probo Koala unloaded a toxic waste shipment in the West African town of Abidjan, Ivory Coast. This shipment killed seven people and poisoned another 44,000. Greenpeace call on the Estonian government to detain the vessel and demands that the EU Commission and the member states ensure that the ship is held until a full criminal investigation is carried out.
The Probo Koala is a key piece of evidence in the investigation and should not be allowed to sail freely.
