Performance Action for Clean Air in Stuttgart
For clean breathing air in cities, 40 Greenpeace activists are demonstrating on Germany's dirtiest traffic intersection, the "Neckartor" in Stuttgart. In white full-body suits, so-called Morphsuits, they are imitating a group of people with respiratory diseases. The refugees are coughing and struggling for air in this choreographed performance until they finally receive oxygen masks, with which they can breathe again. The activists are holding signs saying "Clean air is our right!" and "Let us breathe!".
With this performance protest Greenpeace is drawing attention on the soon expected verdict of the Federal Administrative Court on possible driving prohibitions for diesel cars.

Performance Aktion fur sauber Atemluft in Stuttgart

Performance Action for Clean Air in Stuttgart
How dangerous NO2 is for human health has been proven in numerous scientific studies. In high concentrations it irritates the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and eyes - even with short contact. In the long term, the risk of asthma and lung cancer increases. Lung growth in children is also impaired.
