Petition Handover in Wiesbaden for the Preservation of the Dannenroeder Forest
The Federation for Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND), Campact and Greenpeace hand over more than 225,000 signatures for the rescue of the Dannenroeder Forest and a highway moratorium to the Hessian Minister of Transport Tarek Al-Wazir. Since October 1, 2020, parts of the "Herrenwald" and "Maulbach Forest" in Hesse have been cleared for the continued construction of the A49 highway. Not only do trees fall here in an intact, healthy mixed deciduous forest, the adjacent forests together with the Dannenroeder Forest protect a drinking water area that supplies 500,000 people from the Vogelsberg district and the Rhine-Main area.
