Tests on all three consoles proved positive for a number of hazardous chemicals and materials. The printed wiring boards (PWB) of the XBox 360 and Wii were found too both contain bromine and the electrical contacts on the printed wiring board (PWB) of the hand controllers for the XBox 360 and PS3 contained beryllium. Wii console contained a number of hazardous chemicals and materials, including PVC and brominated flame retardants. The motherboard - the main printed wiring board (PWB), from each of the three consoles contained a high level of bromine, indicating the presence of brominated flame retardants (BFRs). The fans from all three consoles contained high levels of bromine.
