Polar Pioneer Tug Positioning
Royal Dutch Shell's offshore oil rig, the Polar Pioneer, holds off of Bainbridge in Puget Sound as it changes tug companies. The rig is en-route from Seattle toward Alaska's Chukchi Sea in preparation to drill for oil in the Arctic. A second rig Shell plans to use, the Noble Discoverer, is one of the oldest drill ships in the world.
