Presentation Report Energy Revolution in Scheveningen the Netherlands

Greenpeace presents a comprehensive global energy strategy to politicians and stakeholders at the Greenpeace ship the Arctic Sunrise in Scheveningen. The study 'Energy Revolution Scenario: A sustainable pathway to a clean energy future for The Netherlands' produced by Greenpeace, the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) and eleven research institutes, provides a practical blueprint for how to cut global CO2 emissions by almost 50% within the next 43 years, whilst providing a secure and affordable energy supply and, critically, maintaining steady worldwide economic development. Renewable energy, combined with efficiencies from the ‘smart use’ of energy, can deliver half of the world’s energy needs by 2050. The report demonstrates that the phasing out of nuclear power and massively reducing CO2-emissions is possible.
