15 Greenpeace activists protest with a 16 x 16 meter banner at the Intercontinental hotel against the climate policy of the German chancellor Angela Merkel, where she delivers a speech to the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) on the occasion of their annual meeting. The activists criticize the change of Merkel from a stated climate protector to the helper of dirty coal energy. The inaction of the federal government concerning climate protection leads to a real boom of coal conversion into electricity in accordance with a higher CO2 emission. GP demands a German withdrawal from coal until 2040 and appropriate prices for coal certificates.

Gegen die Klimapolitik von Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) protestieren 15 Greenpeace-Aktivisten mit einem 16 mal 16 Meter großen Banner am Hotel Intercontinental. Merkel wird hier vor dem Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW) anlässlich dessen Jahrestagung sprechen. Die Aktivisten kritisieren Merkels Wandlung von der erklärten Klimaschützerin zur Helferin des schmutzigen Kohlestroms. Die Untätigkeit der Bundesregierung im Klimaschutz führt zu einem regelrechten Boom der Kohleverstromung mit entsprechend höherem CO2-Ausstoß. Greenpeace fordert einen deutschen Kohleausstieg bis zum Jahr 2040 und angemessene Preise für CO2-Zertifikate.
