A coalition of around 300 organizations revolts against the plans of the industry for patents on natural resources, like vegetables such as broccoli or tomatoes. Anlass ist die erste Anhoerung zu einer Grundsatzentscheidung im europaeischen Patentwesen: Anhand eines Patentes auf Brokkoli, Tomaten und daraus hergestellte Lebensmittel will das Amt entscheiden, ob natuerliche Ressourcen weiterhin als "Erfindung" beansprucht werden koennen.
