Protest at Bayer Shareholder Meeting against Bee-Killing Pesticides in Cologne - News Access
Cologne, 26.4.2013: Greenpeace activists protest against the bee-killing pesticides chemical company Bayer produces at their shareholder meeting in Cologne. “Bayer pesticides kill bees” is written on the 5 x 15 meter wide banner, that climber activists fix at the entrance to the fair building. Greenpeace lists seven bee-harming pesticides that have to be stopped from being used in a study called “Bye bye bee? The dying of bees and the risks for the agriculture in Europe.” Amongst those are also active components from Imidacloprid and Clothianidin from the group of the controversial neonicotinoids. Their prohibition is discussed on EU level at the moment.
