Protest at the Plomin Coal Plant in Croatia
Greenpeace is in Croatia to protest against the building of new blocks to be added to the Plomin coal power plant, based on the Adriatic coast. Activists from 12 countries hung the banner reading “Coal is a dirty business” across the bay of Plomin during the Rainbow Warrior tour of the Mediterranean to support the campaign for less dependence on dirty energy sources like coal, and more investment in clean renewable energy sources.

Rainbow Warrior Mediterranean Climate & Energy Tour
The Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior travels throughout the Mediterranean region stopping in Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. Greenpeace is targeting a range of dirty fossil fuel developments across the region, from existing coal fired power stations to the growing plans for off shore oil drilling. Greenpeace is also supporting and engaging with the many active and vibrant communities that are fighting these fossil fuel projects and using the ship as a platform to promote our vision of a Europe that is not dependent on dirty fossil fuels.
