Rainbow Warrior in Guimaras - Web Video (English Subs)
During ceremonies coinciding with the visit of the Greenpeace flagship, the Rainbow Warrior, to the province, Guimaras Governor Samuel T. Gumarin and the municipal mayors of the island declared Guimaras as the first coal-free province in Visayas.
The province is home to the 54-megawatt San Lorenzo wind farm, the first ever in Visayas, that has been operational since 2014. There are plans for expanding this with an additional 40-megawatts in Barangay Sebaste, Sibunag.

Rainbow Warrior in the Philippines (Video)
Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior is in the Philippines for her Balangaw: The climate Justice tour. The ship tour aims to highlight efforts of the people who are reclaiming their rights to safe and ecologically sourced food, rights to resilient and thriving oceans, and to witness how the people are taking their power back by telling stories of survival and hope.
The ship is in the country to provide a platform for communities who are already dealing with the impacts of the climate crisis, such as Indigenous Peoples, farmers, fisherfolk, youth, grandmothers, and others. Their call is for fossil fuel companies and governments to stop business-as-usual, since they are failing to respect and protect their rights to life, to health, to their culture and way-of-life, to livelihood and an adequate standard of living, and to a stable climate and healthy environment.
