This year, Greenpeace Russia went on an expedition to study successful projects in the regions. Before the trip, Greenpeace Russia experts compiled a list of regions that have started switching to renewable energy. Among them was the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. According Russia Renewable Energy Development Association, the Republic is the leader of small hydropower among all regions of Russia. The expedition also visited a wind power plant and a solar power plant in the Stavropol Krai (region)
