Report: Left in the Dust
Report: "Left in the Dust"
A Greenpeace team visits Niger searching for dangerous levels of radiation in cities (Arlit and Akokan) located close to two uranium mines owned by French company AREVA. The analysis show that the uranium contamination in four out of five water samples exceed World Health Organisation safety limits. Greenpeace is calling for a full independent study around the mines and mining towns in Niger followed by a thorough clean up and decontamination. AREVA must take responsibility for its actions not only in Niger, but worldwide.
