Mr Nakamura, the president of non-profit organization “TAMASU” who offers culture based tourism showed his concerns for oil impact on coral reefs and seaweeds.
Greenpeace Japan sent a team down to Amami Oshima where the tarry residues are washed ashore to conduct bearing-witness and to hear residents' concerns.

国際環境 NGO グリーンピース・ジャパンは、2018年1月6日に東シナ海で貨物船と衝突し、漂流後に沈没した石油タンカー「Sanchi」から流出したと思われる油が、鹿児島トカラ列島の海域に漂流したことを受け、2018年2月12日から14日にかけて鹿児島県奄美大島に滞在し、油の漂着物の状況確認と住民への聞き取り調査を行った。
