Resident’s Concerns over Oil Residues on Beach in Amami Oshima
Ms Oishi, a resident of the island, expressed her feelings over the oil impact on marine ecosystem and on her everyday life. She is concerned if it is possible to swim in the water this year and the possible impact for sea turtle’s spawning season.
Greenpeace Japan sent a team down to Amami Oshima where the tarry residues are washed ashore to conduct bearing-witness and to hear residents' concerns.
