Scientific Research on Tropical Peatland in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Jannes Stoppel (Greenpeace Campaigner,
Forests and Climate Change) and Raoul Monsembula (Greenpeace Country Coordinator DRC, Forest Campaign) collect ideas and wishes from the residents of Lokolama. A team from Greenpeace Africa are working with local partners to conduct scientific research in the village of Lokolama, 45 km from Mbandaka. The team aim to identify the presence of tropical peatlands in the region, and to measure its depth.
