Signatures Handed Over Against the Demolition of Lützerath
Greenpeace and "All Villages Remain" hand over more than 150,000 signatures against the destruction of Lützerath.
The 1.5 degree limit runs in front of Lützerath - this has been proven by the German Institute for Economic Research. Lützerath and the other threatened villages near the open pit mine must be preserved and the coal must remain in the ground so that Germany can meet the Paris climate targets
Greenpeace is therefore calling for an immediate moratorium on demolition. The SPD, Greens and FDP must now call on the NRW state government to stop the planned clearance and destruction of Lützerath.
Activists from Greenpeace and "All Villages Remain" in front of the Paul Löbe House. The banners read "All villages remain!", "Demolition moratorium now!" and "1.5 degrees means: Lützerath remains!"
