To understand better how contamination affects the lives of Chernobyl survivors, Greenpeace carried out two pilot investigations into the remaining radionuclide contamination of locally produced food and forests. The first trip was to the Rivne region and the Kiev regions in Ukraine. The second one - to the Bryansk region in Russia.
