Taranaki Action Court Appearance
Greenpeace activists and Hollywood star Lucy Lawless appear at the New Plymouth District Court. After appearing in court, the activists were remanded pending the outcome of negotiations around the charges they will face over their involvement in the occupation of the Shell-contracted drillship the Noble Discoverer, in Port Taranaki, in February 2012. The activists had stopped the Shell-contracted drillship from departing the port of Taranaki for the remote Arctic, where its exploratory oil drilling programme threatened to devastate the Alaskan coastline.
