Korea East-West Power Company (EWP) owns Dangjin Coal-Fired Power Complex located at Gyoro-ri, Seokmun-myeon, Dangjin-si. Currently eight 4000MW units are being operated and a 2,040MW expansion is under construction. This expansion will make the Dangjin CFPP the second largest coal plants in the world. EWP claims that the Dangjin Power Complex is one of the most eco-friendly plants built in Korea.
