Sofia Enciso visits the family of Maria Concéption Hernandez Vásquez (left), in Juanacatlán village. Maria Concéption is a cancer victim. The Enciso family lives by the heavily polluted River Santiago. The family members are activists and have been fighting against the industries in the area that produce toxic waste. They have formed the collective "Un Salto de Vida" (A leap of life), holding community meetings, petitioning and visiting polluted sites. They have helped to disseminate information and awareness to the community members about the problems caused by the pollution of the river.
