The expeditions took place far and wide: from China’s Haba Snow Mountains to the Swiss Alps; from the Italian Apennines to the High Tatras Mountains in Slovakia; from the Golden Mountains of Altai in Russia to the stunning Patagonian mountains of Torres del Paine, and from Treriksroset in Northern Europe to Kaçkar Mountains of Turkey. PFCs are already found deep in the ocean, on mountain tops, and within nearly all living creatures. Once released into the environment during industrial production, PFCs persist for millions of years and future generations will continue to be exposed via contaminated water, air and food.Locations:Finland-Heybeliada-Italy-Norway-Scandinavia-SwedenDate:1 Jun, 2015Credit:© GreenpeaceDuration:28m26sAudio format:NaturalProduction Type :CLIPREELKeywords:Chemical industry-Chemicals-Detox (campaign title)-Forests (topography)-Greenpeace members-KWCI (GPI)-Lakes-Landscapes-Mountains-Nature-PFCs-Pollution-Research-Rivers-Samples-Sampling (activity)-Scenic-Snow-Textile industry-Trees-Valleys-Water-Water pollutionShoot:Detox - The Great Contaminated OutdoorsEight Greenpeace teams went to famous remote areas across three continents to collect water and snow samples and test them for PFCs, the hazardous chemicals used to make outdoor gear waterproof.
