The Landscape Monitoring, related to agriculture, is held annually. From data analysis and satellite imagery, our team of researchers maps critical areas in the biome to be checked and documented. Despite the agricultural sector selling the image of 'modern and environmentally sustainable', the reality that we see in the field is another one: small and large deforestation, soy production and cattle breeding in areas that have been embargoed, forest fires - including within indigenous lands - and illegal logging. This year, our teams traveled northern Brazil from east to west, through the states of Amazonas, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, and Pará. Related Collections:Amazon Landscape Monitoring 2015 - all photographers
