Toxics Action against 'Spolana' chemical plant (Czech Republic : 2004)

Two activists in protective clothing stand next to containers of contaminated waste hold protest banners reading, 'Spolana clean up now'. Greenpeace activists from 20 countries around the world remove toxic mud from a contaminated stream in the village of Libis, 20 km from Prague, Czech Republic. Greenpeace returned the collected waste in special safety containers to 'Spolana' chemical plant, claiming the company is responsible for the poisonous substances like dioxins, mercury, hexachlorbenzene, and vinylchloride found contaminating the surrounding area.
