Underwater Banner Action at MUSA in Cancun
Greenpeace activists posed with banners calling for the protection of biodiversity in the MUSA (Underwater Museum of Art) in Cancun, where there are 500 underwater life-size sculptures used to promote coral life. Greenpeace Mexico is calling for more and better controlled ocean sanctuaries in Mexico and around the world. In order to safeguard biological diversity, the protection of 10% of marine areas by 2020 should be accelerated, as they have been compromised. These marine reserves must be effectively managed to address the massive threats of overfishing, climate change and pollution, to ensure sustainable oceans for future generations.
