Volunteer Firefighters on Putsaari Island (Ladoga Lake in the Republic of Karelia)

Volunteer forest firefighters working on Putsaari Island in the “Ladoga Skerries” National Park in Karelia. The detachment included employees of Greenpeace, the Ural reserve “Denezhkin Kamen” and volunteer forest firefighters. The area covered by the fire was approximately 100 hectares. It took more than a week to put out the fires.
One of the sketes of the world famous Valaam Monastery is located on the Putsaari Island.
