Whip Coral Formations - Azores Deep Sea Life
This underwater images was captured with the use of a specialised underwater camera. A dense field of whip coral (Viminella flagellum) found at 250 -300 meter. Colonies can grow to 3m long and occurs over hard bottoms and is associated with bright orange gorgonian of the Paramuriceidae family. Greenpeace is in the Azores with a team of scientists to survey and document deep sea life.
