Photographs of the Story County 1 Wind Energy Center, situated just north of Colo, Iowa.  The Next Era Energy-owned wind farm is one of two wind farms in Story County.  Both farms generate a combined 300-megawatts using 200 1.5-megawatt wind turbines.  The two farms generate enough renewable energy to power about 75,000 homes.
