The Quit Coal Tour in Thailand is part of Greenpeace's global campaign against coal. Coal is the most polluting of all fossil fuels and the largest single source of CO2 in the world. Currently, one-third of all carbon dioxide emissions come from burning coal. Greenpeace is calling on the Thai government to quit coal and increase energy efficiency. Greenpeace is also calling on G8 countries for decisive action against climate change, pointing out that developing countries like Thailand face dire consequences of inaction by the world’s richest countries.
