Wings of Paradise Mural in The Netherlands

Illustrator and Print Maker Rick Berkelmans paints a mural depicting birds of paradise in Breda, the Netherlands.

''My design is about a wounded Bird of Paradise that is being nurtured by a girl and a frog character. Protected from raindrops by a big palm leaf. You can also see several other plants, cut down trees and a tarsier that represent the Indonesian rainforest. Because the mural is on such a location, lots of people stop by and ask about the wall. We all seem to know a bit about palm oil industry, but most of us, me included, are not really aware of the urgency of the situation. So that is why I think it is so cool that we are joining forces with this campaign. Bringing this matter to the public attention in a positive, yet urgent way.''
