Women Choose Life No Coal in Turkey - Web Video (Clean Version)
Greenpeace Med together with local organiser, Işıl Su Erdoğan, realize a project to bring women's struggle from Yenice, Çanakkale, Soma, Yırca and Karabiga to public attention in Turkey and abroad.
Women are protesting against the coal industry expansion.
The first coal power plant has already taken over farm land. People used to grow and sell walnuts, making a living but the coal industry has destroyed the livelihoods of many farmers. Because of coal many have health problems like asthma.
The women started to march in protest, then they were followed by the men. They oppose the construction of new power plants and don’t want anything related to coal.
