Yeb Sano Leads a People's Pilgrimage in Sydney
Former Philippines climate change commissioner and devout Catholic Yeb Sano leads a 'People's Pilgrimage' across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to St Mary's Cathedral to promote multi-faith action on climate change. On May 17th 2015, the People's Pilgrimage was launched from Tacloban, Philippines (Tacloban was devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan). The Peoples Pilgrimages will globally visit places of climate risk: to sites that are showing impacts such as the Great Barrier Reef, to sites causing man-made climate change (coal mines, oil pipelines, etc.); or to sites of resistance where communities are fighting back with solutions, inspiration and leadership showing how we can live free from fossil fuels.

Yeb Sano Leads a People's Pilgrimage in Sydney
The People’s Pilgrimage is launched from Tacloban, Philippines (Tacloban was devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan). The People's Pilgrimages will globally visit places of climate risk: to sites that are showing impacts such as the Great Barrier Reef, to sites causing man-made climate change (coal mines, oil pipelines, etc.); or to sites of resistance where communities are fighting back with solutions, inspiration and leadership -showing how we can live free from fossil fuels. The People's Pilgrimage is being led by Yeb Sano, the former Climate Change Commissioner for the Philippines, who inspired the creation of the #FastfortheClimate movement. The People's Pilgrimage is the chance for the faith communities, around the world, to share their climate action and their own stories, in a very special way. The People's Pilgrimage came to Australia, following Vanuatu, in the second week of June 2015. Catholic EarthCare Australia and Greenpeace supported the pilgrimage in Australia.
