4.9.2006 - Every breath we take comes from the world's oceans. The oxigen is produced by uncountable algaes (seaweed). In return we plunder our oceans and take away the oxygen by pouring waste and poisons into the oceans. About 70 percent of the earth's surface is covered by water. The oceans contain an enormous variety of life form; starting with fleasize crayfish measuring 3 millimeters; up to the 30 meter long blue whale. There are 28.000 fish species dicovered up until today. The Greenpeace Expedition 'Defend Our Ocean' (DOO - German: SOS Weltmeer) is cruising the oceans for one year to fight greed and thoughtlessness and to support a broad protection of these vital oceans.
