Yushin Maru in the Southern Ocean

First sighting of the Yushin Maru, a catcher boat of the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Following a 10-day search in Antarctic waters, the Greenpeace ship Esperanza today confronted Japan's whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. The whaling fleet immediately took flight from the Esperanza, which continued to pursue it. Greenpeace activists will take peaceful direct action against the fleet if it restarts whaling.
