Not far from the large city of Yekaterinburg ( near the villages of Monetny and Murzinsky), the drained peat bog continues to burn throughout the winter. Unfortunately, in the spring the burning will not stop by itself. Therefore, employees of the fire department of Greenpeace Russia, together with representatives of the Ural air base "Avialesookhrana" and volunteers from Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, surveyed this peat bog. 22 active centers of peat smoldering were discovered and marked on the map. Based on the results of the survey and measurements, a plan of extinguishing will be developed (extinguishing works are planned in March 2022).The work will be carried out jointly by employees of the fire department of Greenpeace Russia, the Ural air base "Avialesookhrana" and volunteers from Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and (possibly) Tomsk. Locations:Eastern Europe-Russia-Ural Mountains-YekaterinburgDate:3 Feb, 2022Credit:© Greenpeace / Maria VasilievaMaximum size:5472px X 3648pxKeywords:Burning-Cold-Day-Fire service-Fires-Forests (campaign title)-Forests (topography)-Ice-KWCI (GPI)-One person-Outdoors-Smoke-Snow-Volunteers-WinterShoot:Zombie Fires near YekaterinburgRussia, Sverdlovsk region.
