iCloud Action at Apple Store in London
Greenpeace take their campaign against Apple and their use of coal to power their data centres to their flagship central London store on Regent Street. Activists plaster the window of the store with an alternative advert highlighting the dirty energy polices of Apple. This action follows a recent report that showed that 55% of the fuel to power their data centres comes from coal, one of the dirtiest and most environmentally damaging sources of energy.
Activists also engage with staff and customers explaining the damage Apple are causing to the environment with their use of coal. In addition customers and staff receive models of apples made of reclaimed coal dust.
