Greenpeace Action G20 Summit - Balloon "Planet Earth First" at the Heinrich Hertz Tower - News Access
Hamburg, 7 July 2017: Greenpeace activists fly a hot air balloon from Hamburg's television tower above the fair area, where the summit starts, bearing their G20 campaign slogan: “Planet Earth First”. They demand from the G20 which produce more than 80% of the worldwide emissions concrete measures for the protection of the planet. The television tower is closed since 2001 and used as police operation centre during the summit. The balloon drifts over Hamburg as a symbol for civil protests during the G20 summit taking place in the city, to raise awareness on climate and energy as well as social inequality and democracy issues.
