Rainbow Warrior Bombing, 30th Anniversary 2015 - Clipreel
New Zealand, January 2015: The Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior was bombed by French government agents in the harbour of Auckland on 10 July 1985. The assassination took the life of onboard photographer Fernando Pereira. She was preparing to sail to Moruroa, French Polynesia to protest against France's nuclear testing. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the bombing new underwater video material shot in New Zealand in January 2015 shows the wreck off Cavalli Island, Matauri Bay as living reef and sea life around it. Further shots show the Rainbow Warrior Memorial on Matauri Hill, scenic landscape of 'Lord of the Rings' film locations and the Tongariro Volcano (drone shots).
