Mediterranean Oil Spill off Coast of Israel - Nature & Parks Authority Video
Israel Nature and Parks Authority video.
The disaster on 17 February washed up vast quantities of tar balls from crude oil over 170 km (106 miles), of shoreline, approximately 40% of Israel’s Mediterranean coast. Animals including birds and sea turtles were covered with tar.
The dead body of a 17-metre young fin whale also washed up but there was no early indication that its death and the oil spill were connected.
