Giant Sand Art at Coastal Sand Beach in South Korea
Greenpeace Korea in collaboration with five artists and two video producers, organise an NVDA (Non Violent Direct Action) on the shores of the Taean Sand Dune Center in the west sea of Korea.
The activity involves the creation of a 60-meter-sized sand drawing which shows images of people, animals and trees, representing the humans and other creatures who live on the Korean Peninsula.
A video, planned to raise awareness in the media and social networks in occasion of Environment Day on June 5th, will show the drawings on the shorelines slowly disappearing, being erased by the sea waves during high tide, which symbolize the vulnerability of the creatures that depend on nature and are in danger due to the climate change crises.
